How to Conduct a Post-Project Review

No matter how large or small the project, it is important that the project team or individual review the project after it is complete to reflect on and learn from the experience.  Many organizations call this review a “post-project review” or a “lessons learned” process.  In the U.S. Army, a post-project review is called an After-Action Review (AAR) and is supported by an after-action report (U.S. Army, 1993).  This tutorial explains the benefits of a post-project review, emphasizes the need for a blame-free climate for the review, and provides advice on how to conduct the post-project review.
